Vote Today to Protect the 2A!

Dear Friend,

I just want to send a quick reminder of today's local elections, as well as one reason why these local elections are more important than ever before.

Today, May 19, elections are being held for Mayor and Town Council in Berryville, Hamilton, and Round Hill. Only residents within town limits are eligible to vote.

The Towns of Purcellville and Lovettsville (and Middleburg, which is not in the 33rd House District) successfully petitioned the

Virginia Supreme Court to delay their elections until Thursday, June 4th. Leesburg and Hillsboro local elections will be held this November.

More information on all these elections, including sample ballots and polling places, is on my website here: https://www.votelarock.us/vote

Why do Town Elections Matter?

Towns control their zoning, additional property and other taxes, and much more.

In the 2020 Session, the Democrat-controlled General Assembly passed, and the Governor signed, SB 35 and HB 421, which allow local governments to control the possession, carry, transport, and storage of guns and ammunition to any building (or the parts of a building the locality is using), local parks, local recreation or community centers, and streets or sidewalks that are in a permitted event area or are adjacent to that area. All types of areas with such restrictions must have signs posted at each entrance, exit, point of egress, or point of ingress.

If you or those you know are town residents, and want to be able to protect yourself wherever you go, you should care that the town council will have the power to restrict that right, beginning July 1st, and vote accordingly, TODAY, OR JUNE 4TH, OR NOVEMBER 3RD, depending on your town.

Religious Liberty:

20 days ago, I sent a letter to the Governor on behalf of pastors who are determined to exercise their God-given right to worship. I have still not received a substantive response to the letter. The Governor did loosen requirements for religious services requirements some in "Phase One", but it is still an infringement, and also does not impact a large segment of the Commonwealth's population, including Loudoun County. More information on these religious liberty efforts is on my website here.

Re-Open Virginia and Loudoun Petition

Hundreds of citizens have signed my re-opening petition to the Governor and Loudoun Chair Phyllis Randall. If you'd like to sign on, the petition is on my website here.
