Role of Government
The proper role of government is best summarized by Virginian Thomas Jefferson's famous language in our Declaration of Independence:"...We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are createdThese fundamental rights of life, liberty and property are given to us by God, not government. Our federal, state and local governments too often violate our rights and take upon themselves to steal our property through excessive taxation to bestow "rights" as a way to "buy" voters.

Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness
