Who Can We Trust to Keep Us Safe?

Dear Friend,

I want to thank the people I meet at their front door for making it very clear what’s on their minds.

At the top of the list is this question, “Who can we trust to keep us safe?”

As the horrible pictures and reports come in from Afghanistan, it could not be clearer that trusting someone with a long record of failures only assures failure.

There is good reason to question how safe we are in Virginia.

Democrats have been in complete control in Virginia since 2020, and they have shut down communication with just about everyone who offers to work with them.

These past two years, under Democrat control, radical new policies and laws have been enacted which demonstrate Democrats' intense disdain for law enforcement. They have undermined our law enforcement professionals at a time when police forces are already understaffed.

Last summer, as many cities, including some right here in Virginia, were burning, stores were being looted, and roads were blocked, police did their best to keep us safe and we appreciate that. But to the amazement of onlookers, in many cases police were told to stand down.

In Virginia, Democrats sought to

punish police, treating them as though they are criminals while elevating convicted criminals to victim status. It is disgusting.

We need to all be asking ourselves, “Who can we trust to keep us safe?”

I have recently heard accounts of thieves here in Virginia, so emboldened by new Democrat-passed laws and by lax enforcement, they are walking into stores, filling their carts, and leaving without payment. Police have been informed by the new breed of liberal Commonwealth Attorneys, like we have in Loudoun County, that no action will be taken against these crimes. This is becoming like the wild west.

I offered a bill last summer which aimed to implement some recommendations from a study commissioned by big city mayors, (mostly Democrats) to limit provisions in Collective Bargaining agreements which give bad actors in law enforcement protection from discipline.

The Democrats would not even let the bill be heard because of their loyalty to their union donors. This proves they have turned their backs on us, just like Hillary did in Benghazi and Biden is doing in Afghanistan.

Friends, I am offering to stay in the fray!

When re-elected, I will work with our Republican team to undo the horrendous laws that put us, our children, and our property at risk.

We will do our absolute best to keep you safe as we face COVID-19 challenges and

by keeping well-paid, well-trained first responders on the job. We will work to protect your business, your school, your job, and your freedom.

I have started waving to the officer in the police cars I drive by. Let’s all do that so they’ll know we appreciate them.

As always, thank you for the tremendous honor and privilege of serving you in the Virginia House of Delegates.

Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns!

Sincerely,

I’m looking forward to continuing to fight for safe communities. The end of this month is the last fundraising deadline before early voting begins on September 17. Click here if you can donate to help me continue to fight for you!
