Thankful, and Ready to Get to Work!

Dear Friends,

First, let me give a huge, belated THANK YOU to all the amazing people who helped us finish our campaign strong. Not only did 25,188 people vote for me to continue serving our district (the most votes I've ever received, and a 7,500+ increase from 2019), but the 58.18% was my 2nd-highest % ever!

As you know, we also saw Republicans take the three statewide races and will likely have a 52-48 majority in the House of Delegates! (two close races are being recounted)

Virginia's citizens voted at a record rate for a Governor-election year, secured a better future for Virginia, and ended the nightmare of the last two years of total Democrat one-party control!

I want to especially thank our Republican volunteers working outside the polling places, and as observers inside the polling places, as well as the hard-working election officials. We had dedicated volunteers working hard for the last year to ensure this year's voting was conducted fairly and by-the-book.

2022 SESSION PREVIEW:

For the last few weeks, we've been preparing for the upcoming 2022 session, which will be Jan. 12-March 12, 2022. There is a lot of bad legislation from the last two years to undo, and while House Republicans are eager to do that, it will be difficult, as many Senate committees are stacked such that we would need 2, 3, or even more Democrats to go along with all Republicans to pass a bill. We're going to give it our best effort, and will likely be asking you to encourage senators to support our efforts.

Here's a preview of some of my priorities for the upcoming session:

Defend God-given, Constitutionally-protected rights in the event of declared emergencies

  • Add definition to emergency power and authority of the Governor
  • Add definition to emergency power and authority Commissioner of Health

Vaccination/religious freedom

  • Protect individuals’ right to refuse any vaccination by claiming a religious exemption
  • Protect individuals’ right to be free from discrimination with respect to COVID-19 vaccination status

Respect Parental rights in public education

  • Education Choice
  • Eliminate harmful pornographic material from our schools
  • Restrict K-12 schools’ ability to impose mask mandates

Defense of Life

  • Protect Pain-Capable Unborn Children
  • Repeal laws which arbitrarily block an individual’s right to defense

Protect the integrity of the vote

Thank you for the tremendous honor and privilege of serving you for another term in the Virginia House of Delegates.

Sincerely,

PS: Please pray for all our newly-elected and returning leaders, that they would commit their ways to the Lord and be willing to stand strong in supporting good legislation in the upcoming session. Also pray for Governor-elect Youngkin and Attorney General-elect Miyares as they make critically important personnel decisions in the coming weeks. If you're interested in serving, the Youngkin administration application portal is here.
