LaRock Sworn in; Receives Committee Assignments

Dave LaRock took the oath of office today in the House Chamber along with his fellow Delegates, committing to discharge his duties to the best of his ability and in accordance with the Constitutions of the Commonwealth and the United States.

“It was a very exciting, very moving experience,” said LaRock. “It was also encouraging to hear the Speaker lay out priorities that are relevant to our District, including job creation and getting more return on investment when it comes to transportation spending. I am looking forward to make some real progress this session.”

Delegates were also assigned committee memberships. LaRock was assigned to the Transportation Committee, the Science and Technology Committee, and the Counties, Cities and Towns Committee. Of the transportation assignment, LaRock noted, “Transportation is particularly exciting because better use of our transportation funds is something I’ve been pushing for years now. Several of the bills we filed deal with reducing tolls and spending transportation funds more efficiently. I’m optimistic that serving on the committee will give us a better chance of seeing some significant transportation and spending improvements.”

LaRock extended his thanks to the people of the 33rd District for entrusting him with the responsibility of representing them. “I’m going to do my best to work hard, be fair to everyone, and remember that my constituents are the ones that voted me in. At the end of the day, I’m working for them.”
