Hamilton, VA – After nearly a year of
negotiation and work, Delegate Dave LaRock is pleased to announce that DMV
Select service is being restored at the Virginia Regional Transit (VRT)
location in Purcellville. Following a Dec. 11, 2015, FBI raid on VRT’s office,
DMV was forced to close the Purcellville Select office. Delegate LaRock has
been in communication with Federal, State, and local government officials for
the last year, working to restore the DMV Select service in Western Loudoun.
DMV Commissioner Richard Holcomb has notified Del. LaRock that the DMV Select service
will be restored under VRT’s new management by the end of 2016.
Delegate LaRock issued
the following statement: “I am grateful for the assistance of Congresswoman
Comstock, Commissioner Holcomb, Senator Richard Black, and Purcellville Mayor
Kwasi Fraser as we worked to find a suitable arrangement to re-open DMV service
in Western Loudoun. DMV also has committed to further service expansion in
Loudoun County, to help relieve the overloaded Leesburg full-service customer
service center.”
DMV tries to make as many transactions as possible available
online in an attempt to reduce costs and wait times. The DMV website has a map with currentwait times for all of their Full-service Customer Service Centers here, or you can check on the Leesburg wait time here. Whenever possible, Del. LaRock encourages constituents to completetransactions online, visit the Purcellville DMV Select
or Berryville DMV Select at 6103 Lord Fairfax Highway, Berryville, or utilize the visits from DMV 2 Go, the agency’s
mobile full-service customer service center. The DMV 2 Go schedule for the
coming month in our area is:

DMV continues to look for ways to enhance their services. This
month, the Stephens City Motor Carrier Service Center in Frederick County began
to offer TSA Pre✓® and Transportation Worker
Identification Credentials (TWIC). TSA Pre✓® provides expedited security
screening for travelers leaving select airports across the United States, and
