Dear friend,
This is a busy week with lots of Independence Day celebrations planned across the 33rd District. I will be at many of these events, supporting our candidates for November, Barbara Comstock and Ed Gillespie!
The Democrats will have folks out for these events too, so we need lots of volunteers for the Leesburg, Lovettsville, and Purcellville parades (in red below) to ensure our candidates make a strong showing. If you are able to join us in a parade, please contact Erika Dyer at Erika@barbaracomstockforcongress.com or call her at 703-906-6368 to RSVP or for more information.

New Laws Go into Effect Today!
My first bill to become law goes into effect today! It protects property owners in annexation proceedings. Read more info here.
Most new laws passed by the General Assembly go into effect on July 1 of each year; exceptions being legislation passed with an emergency clause (which requires a 4/5's majority to pass and goes into effect as soon as it is signed by the Governor) or legislation that is passed with a delayed effective date.
The Division of Legislative Services prepares a summary of new laws each year. I invite you to click the link below to read a selection of legislation passed during the 2014 Session that is likely to affect the daily lives of the citizens of Virginia.
