Special Invite from Sen. Dick Black - Del. Dave LaRock Honor Reception

I invite you to my home on January 8th for a reception honoring Del. Dave LaRock for his years of service.

I and many others are grateful for Del. Dave LaRock's conservative leadership for Loudoun, Clarke, and Frederick Counties in the House of Delegates for 10 years, and even before that on issues like opposing the Chesapeake Bay ordinance and taxpayer funding of the Dulles Rail project.

We want to honor Dave as he finishes his term of service to the 33rd House District.

My wife, Barbara, and I will be hosting an appreciation event for Dave and Joanne LaRock on January 8th at our home in Ashburn. If you are able to attend, please send us an RSVP as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Senator Dick Black (Ret.)

In Everything Give Thanks: Pics & Highlights 2013-2023

I'm writing to thank you one last time as a Virginia Delegate. From the bottom of my heart - Thank you for trusting me to serve you. Thank you for your prayers and support over the last decade.

While this year's elections didn't go as we had hoped, we can rest in the confidence that "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." Proverbs 16:9 (ESV)

As we move past the Thanksgiving holiday and look forward to celebrating our Lord's birth in a few weeks, I am enjoying my new freedom.

While it has been an enormous honor to serve in the longest continually-meeting legislative body in the Western Hemisphere, the greater privilege has been all the wonderful people I've been honored to meet and serve over the last decade.

I look around and see our world moving away from the Truth and Light. Political efforts, no matter how well-placed, seem to only stall the decline if they have any effect at all.

The bright side is that nothing escapes the notice of the one true God of the universe who is looking out for us.

Election Day is Here - Please Write in Dave LaRock!

This campaign year has taken some surprising turns, but it's now Election Day!

I'm asking for you to write in my name for Senate District 1 so that I can continue to serve you in the General Assembly. These are very challenging times for our Country, our Commonwealth, and our communities, and many have said my decade of experience leading on difficult policy issues is still needed in Richmond. The Shenandoah Valley is conservative Republican, and deserves a conservative Republican leader. I hope you will get out on this beautiful day and vote for me, and also encourage your friends and family in Clarke, Frederick, Shenandoah, and Warren Counties and the City of Winchester to do the same.

Polls are open until 7pm. A full list of polling locations in the 1st Senate District is on my website here. Feel free to call us at 540-751-8364 with any questions.

Thank you again for your prayers and support!

Mr. French Jumps In Bed With Dominion Energy - WATCH YOUR ELECTRIC RATES GO UP!

We need a Senator with deeply held convictions, and a track record defending businesses & families from rising energy costs.

Dominion Energy wants Dave LaRock out... Dominion wants Timmy French in so they can keep raising your electric bills.

CONSIDER THIS A WARNING- Your area is served by Dominion Energy:

VIDEO: Timmy French Ready to Negotiate Away Gun Rights - Write-In Dave LaRock!

WHEN IT COMES TO DEFENDING GUN RIGHTS, TIMMY FRENCH IS NOT ONE OF US.

I’ll get straight to the point.

I hope you know my track record on gun rights - if not scroll down or go here.

Please read far enough to learn why I make these statements.

  1. Timmy French is NOT a conservative and he is favored to win and serve Senate District 1 in Richmond. He cheated in the Primary- Go here to learn more
  2. Timmy French, in his own words, in a candidate forum in Edinburg, made it 100% clear that he cannot be trusted with our gun rights.

Not everyone will get the significance of what Timmy French disclosed. I hope enough voters do before the election on November 7th.

Watch and listen to Timmy French on Gun Rights at a recent forum in Shenandoah County (see 1:13:58)

Vote Like Life Depends On It!

Timmy French never misses an opportunity to talk about his dirty boots and agriculture.

Never once has Timmy mentioned what he will do about protecting babies, not even the ones who survive botched abortions or are the victims of late-term abortions.

Both issues have been at the center of my legislative efforts in Virginia.

Timmy French has NOT shown voters a shred of evidence that he has engaged on any of the most pressing issues that the people of this Senate District face.

A question voters should be focusing on is this:

Is someone who has been entirely absent from public service ready to tackle the complex challenges facing our Commonwealth as a lawmaker?

If I Sat Down to Have a Beer With Timmy French….

My impression of Timmy French is that he is a hard working farmer, and I respect that. If we had a beer together, I would have more questions about agriculture for him than we would have time for. If he was interested I’d tell him a few of my favorite stories about building things. I hope that we have those conversations soon.

It is a little surprising that none of the men who ran for this Senate seat have ever shown interest in what I’ve learned from serving a big part of what is now Senate District 1. In fact, several of them, including Timmy, were so consumed with the desire to be elected they flat out lied about my record.

I’ve grown a thick skin over the years, but the lie that my 10 years of hard work and sacrifice working for the people who elected me was wasted is hard to take without firing back with the truth.

Legislating is work! Getting things done at times seems impossible.

What follows is a small sampling of what I have worked on with whoever was willing to help. Please browse this summary and let me know if you think any of this has helped make life better for you and your family.

Important Announcement Video - WARNING- EXPLICIT IMAGES!

People are tired of Democrats destroying our Country and our communities and trying to run our lives. The residents of Senate District 1 (SD-1) deserve to be represented by a reliable conservative, someone who shares their values and can be trusted to represent them well, to serve the people, not the special interests.

I’m extremely honored to have served the Northern Shenandoah Valley in the House of Delegates for ten years. SD-1 is already losing the influence and experience of Senators Jill Vogel and Mark Obenshain and Delegate Webert.

If we go forward without the strong conservative voice I bring to the legislature, many conservative leaders are convinced that we are going to miss out on meaningful reforms and see our rights further eroded.

But there is still hope. After 3 months of praying and consulting with my wife and others, I have decided to actively encourage voters to WRITE-IN my name for Senate District 1. This is a huge effort, with voting already underway, and we can only do it with your support.

Reminder - I Hope to See You Friday!

The future of our Commonwealth and our communities is very much at stake right now, and with voting starting in two days, Virginia Democrats are desperately trying to maintain control of the Senate, and retake a majority in the House.

Perhaps the most important race for determining control of the Virginia Senate for the next four years is in Western Loudoun, where Juan Pablo Segura is our Republican candidate.

I'll be speaking Friday evening at an event for Juan Pablo, hosted by my friends Tom and Heather West.

And I'm pleased to announce we will be joined by a new Special Guest, Jess Smith, a Loudoun mom dedicated to keeping kids safe in public schools!

There is no cost to attend.Families are welcome, as it will be a 100% pro-life crowd.I am confident you will like what you hear and be inclined to both vote for Juan Pablo Segura and contribute to his campaign.

I hope to see you there!

We Won Some Tax Relief - Join Me at a Great Event Next Week!

Last week, the legislature re-convened in Richmond for a one-day Special Session to pass amendments to the current two-year budget. I'm happy to report that we have been able to deliver about $5 Billion in tax relief during my current term in the House of Delegates.

The future of our Commonwealth and our communities is very much in the balance right now. Virginia Democrats are desperately trying to maintain control of the Senate, retake a majority in the House, and take over local Boards of Supervisors, School Boards, and Constitutional Officer positions. Please support and vote for our conservative candidates! Early-in-person voting begins Friday, Sept. 22 at your local Voter Registrar's office. I'll be speaking next Friday at an event for Juan Pablo Segura, our Republican Nominee for the Western Loudoun seat in the Virginia State Senate...

Bad News for Republicans: The Timmy French Betrayal

Many Republicans from the Shenandoah Valley and beyond have been contacting me over the last month, disturbed by what happened on June 20th, (see our last email) and asking for answers. While we're still working with the data and learning more about what happened, some aspects of this are becoming quite clear.

Who Did Republicans Choose in the Senate District 1 Republican Primary?

Timmy French ran up his vote totals by allying with Republicans’ political and ideological adversaries.

Primary Election voter data shows many radical leftists voted in the Republican primary. Seven of the 8 candidates campaigned as constitutional conservative Republicans, in contrast to Timmy French who openly invited “everyone” to vote for him:

The Candidate of the “Everybody” Party

Thank you!

First, thank you to my wife and best friend, Joanne, who has sacrificed so much to be at my side for this decade-long journey of public service.

Second, thank you to my faithful ally and assistant, Daniel Davies. Daniel is dedicated to the hard work of helping others solve problems, from minutia to the big injustices that plague us.

Thank you to those who have entrusted me with this enormous honor and responsibility as their Delegate and those would have allowed me to be their senator and to those who have prayed tirelessly, shared time or treasure so generously. My only regret is uncertainty that comes with not being sure these wonderful people will be well represented in their state government at a time when we all crave stability, integrity, and leadership.

Lastly, thank you to those who live within the immediate reach of the French kingdom and still chose to make what I’ll call a well-reasoned obvious decision in favor of my true conservative representation.

Polls Are Open 3 More Hours!

It's 4:00pm, and with 3 hours of voting still to go, turnout has been slow but steady today. Unfortunately, I've personally witnessed the Democrats working to undermine our Republican Primary. But I've also met many new and old friends at the polls today, eager to see me continue my conservative servant leadership in Richmond.

Please make sure all your conservative friends get out to vote for me before 7pm. It's been a great honor to serve Clarke and Frederick Counties in the legislature for the last decade, and with your help, I hope to continue my service in the Virginia Senate. I'm the only candidate in this Primary who can hit the ground running in the crucial 2024 session that will determine the direction of the Commonwealth. After today, 1/3 to 1/2 of the current Senators will be gone, and I'm ready to make sure the new Senate Republican Caucus supports a strong conservative agenda in 2024.

Help me press on with our Republican team in Richmond and keep the winning going for the people of Virginia!

I need your vote TODAY, by 7pm, at your local polling place in Clarke, Frederick, Shenandoah and Warren Counties & the City of Winchester.

Polls Are Open Now - It's Time to Keep Winning!

As I have visited thousands of people in this new 1st Senate District, I’m saddened that, for many, their hope for the future of our nation is dwindling. Many are discouraged and wondering if we can turn things around.

Please do not be discouraged. Your vote TODAY can, and will, help us win on issues that matter to us all.

Only 18 months ago, Virginia shocked many around the nation by electing a Republican Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General, and restoring a GOP Majority in the House of Delegates. The unfinished winning we need to do to get Virginia back on course is to take back the State Senate this year, and it starts today! Help me press on with our Republican team in Richmond and keep the winning going for the people of Virginia!

I need your vote TODAY, by 7pm, at your local polling place in Clarke, Frederick, Shenandoah and Warren Counties & the City of Winchester.

YOU CAN TRUST THAT I’LL WIN AND TRUST I WILL NEVER BACK DOWN

I’m Dave LaRock and I am asking for your vote in TODAY'S Republican Primary for Virginia’s 1st Senate District because you can trust that I’ll win, because I have already been doing it

Nonsense Flying in Every Direction - Just the Facts Here!

There is a lot of last-minute misinformation flying around trying to deceive voters - see my "Just the Facts" page here for the truth!
We are working overtime going into the final hours before the votes are counted.
The good news- people we talk to agree that a solid track record and experience are super important.
A big concern: real data shows us that without a doubt there are a lot of Democrats voting in this Republican Primary, about 12% of the early votes.
The only way we can prevent them from defeating me and the conservative principles that we hold dear - is to get every Republican out to vote!
I still believe the 2020 presidential election was stolen, let's get out in force and vote to win.
I'm already on the battlefield, I've been fighting and leading for the last decade for conservative policies and with your help, tomorrow, I'll keep doing so!

100's of Democrats Corrupting GOP Primary - 32 Hours to Final Deadline - Are You With Me?

Our campaign is going well, but I do have some disturbing information to report, and I need your help.

IMPORTANT ALERT- Voter data shows that 100’s of Democrats are early voting, but who are they voting for and why?

A friend texted me: 'I just overheard a conversation between some women... They giddily said, "If Dave loses, then he's out." The early voting free-for-all has started and I noticed some Democrat women showing up. I think the Democrats are voting for your opponents.'

The Shenandoah County Democrat Committee's Treasurer has been posting on social media (picture above) for Democrats to vote in the Republican Primary against me (and voter records show they have been voting)!

So Democrats are bragging about how this Republican Primary is their best opportunity to defeat me! But it's not really about me, it's about the conservative principles that we hold dear - don’t let them win!

PEOPLE, PLACES AND BBQ - Poll results...

The Shenandoah Valley, from Winchester to New Market, Berryville to Front Royal, seems to get a little smaller every time I travel it. It’s about people, places, and BBQ.

The best way to hear what matters to the people of the Valley is to sit down and chat for a bit, or maybe wrestle. So that’s what Joanne and I are doing.

Energy Matters: Dominion Energy Monopoly & Green Schemes Hurt Virginia Families

As families struggle to make ends meet, they can rest assured I am working to battle against bad policies that drive up our cost of living.

Virginia Democrats have put disastrous policies in place increasing the cost of food, fuel, and electricity.

For many years, I've been fighting against Dominion's schemes that protect their investors' profits, while forcing the huge costs of feel-good "Green Energy" onto their customers.

Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn to Dave LaRock - "You Are My Kind of Elected Official!"

A few days ago, when I was told that President Trump’s former National Security Adviser, Lt. General Michael Flynn, was on the line, I eagerly grabbed the phone.

During that call, we discussed the many serious threats to our great nation and how important it is to stay on the battlefield fighting to restore America to being a nation whose government serves “We the People.”

What a spectacular honor for General Flynn to notice the role I have played in Virginia to fight the corrupt powers in the DC swamp that seek to tear down our Christian way of life and the Republic we so cherish.

I am thrilled to announce that when Virginia's premier gun rights groups, The Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) and the NRA, were faced with this question,

The NRA gave me their highest score possible. Here is the VCDL's answer:

Warning: Explicit - Massoud Back At It With Crude Tactics

I’m being attacked and I need your help.

John Massoud is running against me in the June 20th Republican Primary to serve in the Virginia Senate.

I know Massoud desperately wants to win an election, but the fliers handed out on Friday at the party canvass in Front Royal by a man with an obscene T-shirt (yes, there were lots of children there) put out the same desperate, dishonest and despicable lies Massoud has been pulsing out against me for weeks. My wife and others were offended by this horrible messaging. It wasn't long ago John Massoud caught heat for crossing the line with another vulgar attack that offended other elected officials and constituents.

For LaRocks, Running For and Serving In Office is a Family Affair!

Over the past weeks, I’ve had the great opportunity to bring my two grandsons, Sam and Marcus, as Joanne and I meet and listen to the citizens who make up the new Virginia 1st Senate District.

I want to show my grandkids who I work for as a state delegate, and hopefully as a state senator, and teach them how our Republic works.

I want them to see firsthand the hard work that comes before the tremendous honor and responsibility that being a public servant involves.

As Joanne, Sam, Marcus and I walk neighborhoods and ride together, we talk about serving our community and fighting for principles that matter.

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM...”Great job - you are a hero - you’re fired!”

During the COVID pandemic, Virginia saw a level of tyranny that was astounding.

Governor Northam acted with total disregard for the law and trampled God-given rights. He closed churches, businesses, and schools.

Following Northam’s lead, many businesses and universities were no better, attempting to force people to vaccinate, wear masks, and stay home, with a few exceptions.

I’ll explain why it was necessary, but first, I humbly ask for your help.

Thank you for your prayers and activism supporting Sage's Law!

Tuesday, Sage's Law passed the House of Delegates on a 50-48 vote, and now goes to the Virginia Senate for consideration.

Sage's Law is being debated by the Virginia Senate in the next few days. Michele hopes for the bill to advance into law to protect other children and families from enduring the same pain and suffering they did.

The Battle Rages - Keeping Our Promise To Fight for Our Freedom

In the second week of the 46-day General Assembly session, we worked quickly to advance a legislative package to improve our schools. We have filed legislation that will elevate education standards, empower teachers to regain control of their own classrooms, and ensure students have the resources they need to succeed. Most importantly, the proposals incorporate input from both parents and teachers around the 33rd District and across Virginia. I've been introducing and presenting more legislation, and one of my bills has been making national news.

We Agree On What Needs To Be Done; Getting It Done Is...

While I am serving in Richmond, I am also seeking to continue by serving Virginia's 1st Senate District, including Clarke, Frederick, Warren, and Shenandoah Counties and Winchester City. There are many candidates vying for that office, and, while my opponents I have much in common on the matter of what needs to be done, my experience proves invaluable in meeting the challenges of actually getting things done.

Mr. Speaker, Todd Gilbert of Shenandoah County, and rumored to be the most conservative member of the House, stands firmly against the Democrats' relentless attacks on our core values, our economy, our safety, and our families. The Senate brags they will block our efforts to fix the economy, revive education, and keep us safe.

In a few days the 2023 Session of the Virginia General Assembly begins and will run for 45 days. I will be laser focused on putting your needs first, always asking myself two questions before casting a vote...

Two Happy Stories to Warm Your Heart... Merry Christmas!!

I want to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas! We are praying that Jesus Christ, our living hope, will fill your hearts and homes with His glory. As you read this message, and I hope you will, please understand how it is intended.

First, it is about two Virginia families who found themselves without the warmth and security we take for granted, all because they wanted to protect themselves and their family.

Second is Christina Baker's story, a moving account of a young girl who chose life over darkness. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

Pray for America, Vote November 8th, and Stand for Biblical Truth!

The subject of this email is a quote from Tony Perkins at the Family Research Council. He is spot on reminding us that when we do our part to  "Pray for America, vote November 8th and stand for biblical truth," we will see a "Red Wave" on Nov. 8th!

After four years under Rep. Wexton, I know Loudoun County is eager to elect Hung Cao, and Clarke & Frederick Counties to elect Ben Cline.

Election Day is only a few days away! Please make sure you vote at your polling place on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8, 6am-7pm.

Or even better, vote early, and then volunteer to help at the polls on Election Day.

See the Pattern? - The CDC, Terry McAuliffe and Del. Elizabeth Guzman Agree

By now you’ve probably heard the news that the CDC has moved a giant step closer to mandating that kids get the COVID-19 jab as a condition of public school attendance.

I hope you see a pattern here.

To the subject line of this message “the CDC, Terry McAuliffe and Del. Elizabeth Guzman Agree” we can add Virginia Democratic legislators and the teachers unions.

2000 Mules - Free Showing Tomorrow Night in Strasburg

As you know, I've worked on election integrity issues for many years. More information on those efforts is on my website here.

The Fredrick County 2nd Amendment Group was planning a free viewing of 2000 Mules tomorrow (Thursday) evening in Frederick County, and I was supporting them in that showing.

However, due to venue logistical issues, we're consolidating with another showing, giving an opportunity for 2A supporters and others in the Northern Shenandoah Valley to have a more central location for everyone to enjoy the viewing! We are thrilled to have folks from Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, and Winchester City attending!

If you're able to attend, please let us know by emailing RSVP@votelarock.us

ACTION NEEDED: Supporting Parental Rights Helps Vulnerable Kids!

Our Governor, working with the Virginia Department of Education, has revised their model transgender policy to respect parents' rights, your rights, to be the primary decision maker for your child.

When parents drop off their children at school, or once the bus picks them up, do parents' rights suddenly vanish?

Please help turn this around by supporting Governor Youngkin's revised policy that protects kids by keeping parents informed.

I need you to go here and voice support for the revised, parent-friendly policy

New Laws and Supreme Court Victories!

It’s hard to believe that the year is almost half over! Tomorrow is the beginning of Virginia’s new fiscal year, and that means many of the new laws we passed this past session will come into effect. Likely the most important thing we did that takes effect on July 1, is the biennial budget, which allocates how the Commonwealth will spend more than $160 billion of our tax dollars. Fortunately, after some long, tough negotiations with Senate Democrats, we were able to return about $4 billion to the taxpayers, while still funding our critical needs like schools and law enforcement.

Giving Unborn Babies the Protection They Deserve

I am very pleased that today the Supreme Court took the opportunity to set aside the Roe v. Wade ruling which contributed to the death of over 60 million babies in the United States over the last 49 years. While this affirmation from the court underscores the reality that there is no explicit constitutional right to take the life of a baby, the responsibility to protect life in Virginia is now left to the state legislature and Governor.

Long-Overdue Tax Relief for Virginians!

The General Assembly met last Wednesday and voted to send the budget to the Governor, who now has opportunity to offer further amendments.

We were charged with managing a significant budget surplus. The Republican House budget prioritized tax cuts and returning tax dollars to taxpayers. The prolonged negotiations saw the Senate Democrats continue to obstruct and reject some of the good proposals from the Governor and House Republicans, as well as attempting to insert some problematic changes into the budget.

Updated Progress Report From the Trenches in Richmond

I’m taking this opportunity to report to you on what took place in the 2022 Session of the Virginia General Assembly and how it will affect all of us. Reaching the First Big Milestone and Seeing Good Progress!

Friday marked one month since the beginning of the 2022 General Assembly session, and we’re now over halfway through. All House Bills must be voted out of the House and moved over to the Senate by Tuesday night. It’s a very busy time. Friday we sent 76 bills over to the Senate, and today and tomorrow we will likely send over 240 more.

Here’s a brief summary of where things stand with some topics of interest.

Making Progress and Some Pictures I Think You’ll Enjoy

The 2022 Session is well underway and we are excited to update you. Several bills I initiated this year in the House of Delegates are making progress, receiving bipartisan support, and we are working hard to get them passed.

My first bill to pass the House and move over to the Senate was HB 793, which aims to improve VDOT Traffic Incident Management vehicles’ response time to help clear serious accidents and get traffic flowing again.

Also, my bills to require absentee ballots be returned before polls close and amending the Lovettsville town charter reported out of Committees on Friday and will see action on the floor next week.

You Voted and Prayed- PLEASE Don't Stop Now!

As of 12 noon tomorrow, the 2022 session of the Virginia legislature will begin with a Republican majority in the House of Delegates, and by Saturday the 15th, Governor-Elect Youngkin, Lieutenant Governor-Elect Sears, and Attorney General-Elect Miyares will be sworn in - you can see the inauguration seating from my Richmond office window!

How did we turn from being a distinctly blue state to having all three statewide offices held by Republicans and the House of Delegates switching to a narrow Republican majority?

There are many things that contributed to this shift. I'll put answered prayer at the very top of the list.

Please consider signing the petition asking Governor Youngkin and Attorney General Miyares to take immediate action protecting medical and religious freedom!

Grants and Private Investment to Bring Broadband to Entire 33rd House District

Today, the Commonwealth announced the latest awards of the Virginia Telecommunication Initiative (VATI) grants to bring universal broadband service to all currently unserved residents and businesses in Loudoun, Clarke, and Frederick Counties. Del. LaRock said, “I know it’s been a very long and painful process to bring broadband service to all my constituents in Loudoun, Clarke and Frederick Counties. Over the last 8+ years, I’ve heard from so many constituents about the way lack of reliable internet service has hindered their ability to work, learn and enjoy life in the rural parts of the district I serve. I’ve worked with all the local governments, internet providers, and constituents to try everything possible to bring them affordable access to reliable broadband internet. I look forward to working with all my constituents and the stakeholders in this project to finally bring this long-standing effort to a successful resolution in the coming months.”

Thankful, and Ready to Get to Work!

First, let me give a huge, belated THANK YOU to all the amazing people who helped us finish our campaign strong. Not only did 25,188 people vote for me to continue serving our district (the most votes I've ever received, and a 7,500+ increase from 2019), but the 58.18% was my 2nd-highest % ever!

As you know, we also saw Republicans take the three statewide races and will likely have a 52-48 majority in the House of Delegates! (two close races are being recounted)

Virginia's citizens voted at a record rate for a Governor-election year, secured a better future for Virginia, and ended the nightmare of the last two years of total Democrat one-party control!

I want to especially thank our Republican volunteers working outside the polling places, and as observers inside the polling places, as well as the hard-working election officials. We had dedicated volunteers working hard for the last year to ensure this year's voting was conducted fairly and by-the-book.

Back to School - Prohibitions on CRT Shot Down by Democrats

I'm sure your social media feeds are full of friends' pictures of their kids heading back to school for the fall. And I'm happy to see them, especially since the last school year was so difficult, with the COVID-19 shutdowns, etc..

Unfortunately, some of what our students will be learning in public schools isn't the reading, writing, math, science, etc. that you'd expect. Instead, most school districts are engaged in indoctrination on politically- or socially-charged topics, something that I have worked to prevent.

Who Can We Trust to Keep Us Safe?

I want to thank the people I meet at their front door for making it very clear what’s on their minds. At the top of the list is this question, “Who can we trust to keep us safe?”

There is good reason to question how safe we are in Virginia.

When re-elected, I will work with our Republican team to undo the horrendous laws that put us, our children, and our property at risk.

We will do our absolute best to keep you safe as we face COVID-19 challenges and by keeping well-paid, well-trained first responders on the job. We will work to protect your business, your school, your job, and your freedom.

Vaccine Mandate, Special Session, and Sales Tax Holiday

This week was "2021 Special Session 2" of the Virginia General Assembly. The only real business the Governor and Democrats allowed us to take up was spending about $4.3 Billion in federal ARPA money that the state has received in recent months.

Shortly after the House of Delegates recessed Thursday afternoon, the Governor announced that he is implementing a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for state employees in the Executive Branch. I immediately drafted and sent an email citing federal law and challenging him on the legality of such an action, but have not yet received a response.

Promises KEPT, Results DELIVERED!

When I ask the people of the 33rd District to reelect me, I want them to know that I work very hard and deliver results. For the past two years, our one-party system has shut down some excellent Republican initiatives to the detriment of this House District and the Commonwealth overall.

One of the challenges that matters the most to our District is one that drew me into public service; that is the need to get people where they need to go and back without the nightmare of gridlock.

It is a huge moment when a project is completed, proving that when we listen to you and work together, we get things done.

College Students - Know Your Vaccination Rights!

Many of Virginia’s public four-year colleges are notifying students, claiming that COVID-19 “...Vaccinations will be REQUIRED for all students….” this fall. Universities do not appear to be offering exemptions to this policy for pregnant, nursing, COVID-19-recovered or any other individuals.

Fortunately, Virginia law allows persons to opt out of mandatory vaccination requirements based on MEDICAL and RELIGIOUS EXEMPTIONS.

MEMO TO VIRGINIA - Enough of the One-Party System!

The lesson of the last two years is clear: we cannot allow Democrats to have full control in Richmond! Virginia Democrats have taken full advantage of their majority in the House and Senate, and a Governor who signs what they send him. These bills are passing on party-line or near party-line votes.

But the one-party control is about to end!

People across the political spectrum are realizing these extreme policy shifts are bad.

The campaign to retake the House is underway. I’m counting on you to make this November the turning point. Please join the team that is set to retake the House of Delegates and win all three statewide offices.

Northam Hurries Up Pot, Lax On Reopening Schools & Parole Board, and “Just Two People Chillin”

Tomorrow at noon, the Virginia General Assembly reconvenes to act on amendments by the Governor. As with most of the bills passed by the Democrat-dominated legislature, the Governor’s actions reflect an extreme agenda which defies common sense. In many cases he proposes to make horrible bills even worse.

Due to the Biden administration withholding the 2020 Census data, I will be running this November, possibly for a 1-year term, in the current 33rd House of Delegates District. I'm contacting you about a very time-sensitive and important matter, the constitutional amendment on the ballot this year. If you and others approve the amendment on Election Day, that would change the way we draw lines for Virginia Senate and House districts as well as congressional districts after each census. I hope you will vote "yes" on Amendment 1!

Is Dr. Oliver Putting Politics Ahead of Patients by Banning HCQ?

Virginia’s Commissioner of Health, Dr. Muhammad Norman Oliver, stresses “health equity” but is denying to Virginians, including those with very limited resources, the ability to obtain affordable, safe, and successful COVID-19 treatments readily available in many foreign countries with limited resources.

I wrote to Dr. Oliver yesterday, urging him to reverse his ban on treatment with Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), noting, “The mortality rate from COVID-19 … are far higher per 100,000 population than in many other countries that use HCQ widely.”

Northam Illegally Regulating Our Daily Lives

In a spectacular message to the court, Liberty University sides with the Tigges family in their legal battle against Governor Northam.

On July 18th, the Tigges family is hosting a fundraiser; everyone is invited, details here.

“…the Governor believes that he can act alone, and that his powers are virtually unlimited…” With your help this lawsuit will put him in his place.

The Governor is threatening to continue current or even more mandates and restrictions, including facemasks and even forcing an unsafe vaccine, indefinitely, perhaps as long as he remains in office.

These lawsuits are our best option to reign in his overreach into every area of our lives and businesses.

Fully Re-Open Virginia Schools!

I have heard from many of my constituents about how the 2020-2021 school year will look for our students and teachers. With the second half of the 2019-2020 school lost due to the ongoing pandemic, many are eager to see their children back in the classroom this fall. Reopening our schools during this pandemic will require safeguards to ensure the health and safety of our children, teachers, and other support staff.

I understand that there were many difficulties with the way the spring classes were conducted, and that while some of those issues are hopefully improved upon this fall, many families are considering home, private or virtual schools for the fall, which are great options for many families. I see two clear top priorities:

  1. Come up with a workable plan for those who are healthy and ready for a 5-day-in-person school week
  2. Make expansion of high speed affordable internet to under-served areas the highest priority at all levels

Big Changes Coming to Virginia July 1 - New Taxes, 2nd Amendment, and Much More!

I’d like to remind you that most laws passed in the 2020 Session become effective on July 1, 2020. I prepared a summary by category, which was mailed out in May. Many of these laws should not have passed, and are likely to be struck down by court challenges. I'm the last Republican Delegate representing Northern Virginia, working to undo these bad laws. Please help keep me on the job by donating before our deadline tomorrow, midnight, June 30.

A Perfect Storm Aims to Crush Virginia Businesses

A perfect storm is an event in which a rare combination of circumstances drastically aggravates the event. Virginians were rightly optimistic last year when CNBC found Virginia to be the “Best State for Business” in the nation. Since then, the new Democrat majority in Richmond has put in motion a tsunami of horrendous new laws, which become effective on July 1, 2020. As businesses, which have not already closed for good, struggle to recover from the COVID pandemonium, the next wave is about to happen. Governor Northam signed these anti-business laws after imposing the draconian unconstitutional COVID Executive Orders on businesses.

Oppose Higher Tolls?

I’ve worked across party lines to reduce tolls on the Dulles Greenway and am working with Loudoun County in their efforts on this important priority.

I’m happy to announce that the Loudoun Board of Supervisors took my recommendation to install a travel time electronic sign on Rt. 7 west of the Greenway to help drivers compare Rt. 7 and Greenway travel times.

Last session there was strong support for tightening control of Greenway tolls, however Western Loudoun Sen. John Bell and a few other NoVa Democrats undermined the efforts after paying lip service in reelection campaigns.

BIG NEWS - Sen. Chap Petersen Files Lawsuits Against Northam COVID Overreach!

This COVID-induced tyranny has gone way too far. How much longer will we sit idle when businesses’, individuals’, and churches’ rights are trampled, and while protesters and rioters are given a pass?

Lawsuits were filed today asking a Federal court and the Virginia Supreme Court for relief.… the lawyer representing my constituent in this case is not only one of the best in this area of law, but is a sitting Democratic Senator from Fairfax County, Chap Petersen!

How and When- End the Lockdown and Fully Reopen Virginia

I have drafted a letter to the Virginia Board of Health that gives a snapshot of an argument that correctly challenges Governor Northam’s Executive Orders and asks the Virginia Board of Health to take a couple of important steps.

First, under the law, the Virginia Board of Health is empowered to deal with health emergencies. That has not played out. Instead, just two men have taken control of every business, religious organization and household in Virginia; just two men, the Governor and the State Health Commissioner. That must end immediately.

Vote Today to Protect the 2A!

I just want to send a quick reminder of today's local elections, as well as one reason why these local elections are more important than ever before.

Today, May 19, elections are being held for Mayor and Town Council in Berryville, Hamilton, and Round Hill. (Middleburg is also holding their elections today, but is not in the 33rd House District). Only residents within town limits are eligible to vote.

Liberate Virginia

One need look no further than Virginia’s flag to be reminded that historically the people of the Great Commonwealth of Virginia do not tolerate tyrants, big or small; tyrants are eventually put in their place....

As protests of patriotic Americans rise up across the country, demanding government back down and allow people to exercise good judgement and reopen, I sincerely hope and pray people will take to the streets in Virginia, peacefully, to let their voices be heard in protest to this unbearable tyranny and in defense of their inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. May we sustain President Trump’s call to “Liberate Virginia”, while maintaining common-sense precautions.

Gov. Northam Needs to Hear From You - Back Off on New Taxes and Laws that Will Crush the Economy

As of this morning, Virginia's COVID-19 statistics are 35,459 people tested, 4,509 cases, 772 hospitalizations, and 121 deaths. Those stats are tragic, and represent many lives changed and lost, but there are even bigger numbers to be concerned about. Yesterday morning we learned that over 300,000 Virginians have lost their jobs in the last three weeks alone (March 15-April 4).
