Debates and Forums

Dave LaRock will be participating in Saturday’s “House of Delegates Candidates’ Forum” in Winchester sponsored by the Winchester Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women) and the Friends of Handley Regional Library. The Candidates' Forum will be held at Handley Library Auditorium in Winchester, Virginia, on Saturday, October 19, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Candidates for the House of Delegates from the 10th and 29th Districts have also been invited to take part and have indicated they will attend.

Last night there was a HD-33 debate in Purcellville sponsored by the Purcellville Gazette. The Gazette contacted our campaign last week asking if Dave could participate in the debate, but we explained that Dave had a scheduling conflict and could not be there. We offered that Dave might be able to participate on a later date, but the Gazette went ahead with promoting and holding their event knowing that Dave could not be there.

Back on October 7th, an event sponsored by the Clarke County Education Association (CCEA) teachers union was held in Berryville. The CCEA’s parent organization, the Virginia Education Association (VEA), had endorsed Democrat candidate for HD-33 Mary Daniel around the time LaRock was invited to the event by CCEA President Andrew Kiser, who also has family ties to Mary Daniel. The candidates for the other Delegate seat in Clarke County were not included in the event invitations. The LaRock campaign declined to participate in a debate sponsored by a union who had endorsed our opponent, coordinated by a union leader related to our opponent, and singling out one of two Delegate races in Clarke County.
